Lancaster City & County Medical Society Member Honored by PA Medical Society
Bruce Brod, MD, a Lancaster dermatologist, has received the R. William Alexander Award from the Pennsylvania Medical Society's political affiliate, PAMPAC*.
The award is given in recognition of the political and grassroots advocacy activities of an individual or PAMED-affiliated organization. It is named in memory of R. William Alexander, MD, a PAMPAC leader and PAMED president.
A physician with Dermatology Associates of Lancaster, Dr. Brod is a recognized leader in physician advocacy. The success of several legislative issues of importance to both his specialty and to PAMED can be largely attributed to his leadership.
Dr. Brod received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his residency in dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh after completing a one-year internship in internal medicine at Brown University. A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, he is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Brod is currently on the board of the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the American Contact Dermatitis Society. He is also a Fellow of the College of Physicians in Philadelphia.
Dr. Brod has been a member of both the Lancaster City & County and Pennsylvania Medical Societies for thirteen years. He has been a contributor to Lancaster Physician, the official publication of the Lancaster City & County Medical Society.
Our congratulations to Dr. Brod upon receiving well-deserved recognition for his leadership on behalf of the physicians of Lancaster County and the State of Pennsylvania.
